The Wisdom Experience

 

Dear Friends,

In the summer of 2019 we set out to launch a membership site for practitioners that would allow us to continue our nonprofit mission of sharing the Dharma through high-quality, authentic Buddhist teachings. We wanted to build the kind of membership site that we longed for ourselves: a place where we would be inspired and encouraged, an online environment where we could discover incredible teachings we may not have had access to otherwise, and a community to help us as we walk the path and grow. Most of all, we wanted to build a place dedicated to the audacious vision that realization is possible, that the Dharma is worth studying and practicing, and that we can support each other in this adventure.

The Wisdom Experience was the result of this vision: an easy-to-use, centralized way to enjoy teachings, be inspired, and connect with others. And not long after launching, our vision for the Wisdom Experience was put to the test as the world experienced a global pandemic. Being able to support and help you connect to your practice and community when you needed it most was an inspiration for us, and we hope that engaging with the Buddhist teachings through books, courses, retreats, and more provided you with encouragement, compassion, and moments of connection and peace.

The last three years have had varied and wide-reaching outcomes, and individuals and businesses are still trying to process and adapt to these changes. Since our membership was all about you, we’ve been actively listening to you, our customers, to help guide us through these changes. We hear you when you say that you’re unclear what to do next after finishing a lecture series, or that you want to study and engage with your membership but often find yourself not having the time to, and we’ve been carefully brainstorming and considering our options to help you make the most of your membership. As a result, we’ve decided to revamp our All-Access membership at the end of November 2022, so that we can focus on building a new modified membership that will address these needs. 

 

And, if you love your All-Access membership, don’t worry! We’re not taking it away. 

 

Anyone with an active All-Access membership at the end of November, whether it’s on a monthly or annual plan, will continue to enjoy all the same content and access that they’ve always had. We’ll continue to add new content, including courses, to the membership each year, and as long as you continue to renew your membership on its regular schedule you’ll be able to keep it. However, after the end of November, the All-Access membership to the Wisdom Experience will no longer be available for new sign-ups. We recognize that the option to sign up for All-Access has already been closed  for most of the year, so we’ve now opened it up to allow anyone who isn’t currently an All-Access member but wants to join to do so before it’s closed at the end of November. So, if you’ve been considering an All-Access membership and are on the fence, we encourage you to sign up for it now. As always, you can cancel at any time, but after November you won’t be able to join. Learn more about our memberships and join here.

FAQs

• Will my All-Access membership end?

Anyone with an active All-Access membership at the end of November, whether it’s on a monthly or annual plan, will continue to enjoy all the same content and access that they’ve always had. We’ll continue to add new content, including courses, to the membership each year, and as long as you continue to renew your membership on its regular schedule you’ll be able to keep it. However, after the end of November, there will no longer be an opportunity for you to sign up for an All-Access membership.

 

• What happens if my All-Access renewal payment fails but I didn’t want to cancel? 

If your renewal payment fails, resulting in your membership being canceled and you let us know in a timely manner, we will be happy to help you renew your All-Access membership. However, should you choose to end your membership by emailing us and letting us know, or we fail to receive a response from you within a reasonable timeframe if you’re notified of a failed payment, you will not be able to rejoin the All-Access membership.

 

• How will this affect Plus memberships? 

No changes are being made to Plus memberships at this time.

 

• When will the new membership be available and what will be included? 

We hope to release the new membership model during the summer of 2023; however, we appreciate your understanding that technological developments are complex and might be delayed.

 

• Why is this happening? 

In the three years since we launched the Wisdom Experience, we’ve been actively listening to you, our customers, to help guide us and determine where to take the membership next, what to develop, and more. We’ve been carefully gathering this data, reviewing it, and brainstorming our options to help you make the most of your membership. As a result, we’ve decided to permanently close our All-Access membership at the end of November 2022, so that we can focus on building a new modified membership that will address these needs. We realize this might not be the news you wanted to hear, and we’re sorry to disappoint those of you in our community who feel otherwise, but we truly believe that you’ll be thrilled with the new model when it becomes available. And if you just love the All-Access membership, you can keep it by simply continuing to renew.
