Desk and examination copies of paperback titles will be fulfilled free of charge; hardcover titles require a $5.00 processing fee. Allow approximately 3-4 weeks for standard delivery. Please be sure to include as much of the following information as is relevant in your request:

• the title and author of the book to be excerpted
• the ISBN-13
• the specific material you would like to reprint (including page numbers)
• the name and address of the publisher that will be reprinting the material
• title, format, and expected first print run of the book in which the material will be used
• territory in which the publisher plans to sell the book

Fair Use
Fair use law allows small passages of books to be reprinted, with proper citation, in the service of public discourse. If your request is not poetry and it amounts to less than 250 words, chances are it falls under “fair use.” If you aren’t sure, feel free to email the marketing department through the contact form above.

General Submission Guidelines

Wisdom Publications accepts unsolicited submissions from authors and agents but only on topics directly related to Buddhism. Authors should have relevant professional, academic, or Dharma-teaching credentials.

To submit your manuscript, please download, complete, and return the Submission Questionnaire. Send it to [email protected]. (You cannot fill this out online; you must download it first.)

If you make your submission via post, be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your materials returned.

Wisdom Publications use the Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, as its house style guide and the American Heritage Dictionary for default spellings. Our preferred formatting and many style issues particular to Buddhist publishing are addressed in our Style Guide for Works on Indian and Tibetan Buddhism.
