This is a ticket to be a live studio audience member during the filming of the Wisdom Dharma Chats episode with Ani Choying Drolma on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 132 Perry St., New York, NY 10014.

Deepen Your Meditation Practice

Varieties of Buddhist Meditation

Contemplative practice plays a central role in all Buddhist traditions. This course offers an accessible exploration of the varieties of Buddhist meditation, focusing on core practices and their underlying theories.

We begin by exploring the styles of practice prominent in early Buddhism, and then examine the new versions of practice, including tantric approaches, that arose with the Mahāyāna, or “Great Vehicle,” in India. We then turn to the contemplative styles that these Indian approaches inspire in the traditions of Tibet, such as the nondual practice of Mahāmudrā.

Ganges Mahāmudrā

A song from the Ganges

Over a thousand years ago, on the banks of the Ganges River, the great Indian mahasiddha Tilopa sang a song directly to his heart disciple, Naropa. This song distilled the entirety of the Mahāmudrā path, revealing how to recognize the nature of mind directly, without reliance on conceptual elaboration.

Naropa transmitted this teaching to Marpa Lotsawa, who brought it to Tibet, where it was passed down through the Kagyu lineage.

Now, that living stream continues—taught with clarity and devotion by His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, whose commentary opens the meaning for contemporary practitioners.

Mahāmudrā: Lama Yeshe’s Teachings on Discovering Your True Nature

how to practice Mahāmudrā

Would you like to step onto a path that can take you completely beyond fear and confusion?

This is the path of Mahāmudrā—direct realization of the nature of mind.

for a direct encounter with mind itself.

It is an ancient, potent method for recognizing the nonduality and emptiness that have always been present.

If you’ve struggled in your practice—
perhaps with overwhelming mental activity or a sense of being stuck—
Mahāmudrā may be the key to breaking through.

Embark on your journey beyond fear and confusion. Join Ven. Robina Courtin in this step-by-step journey through Lama Yeshe’s transformative Mahāmudrā teachings.

The course begins July 11. Scroll down for a full schedule.
